Executive programmes
Strategy simulations have become very fashionable as management and training tools. They now also play an increasingly pivotal role in developing real business strategy.
Valculus provides a range of executive programmes which bridge the gap between simulation management training and real business strategy development. The programmes are all focused directly on the big strategic planning issues facing clients operating in long life cycles industries.
We focus on four broad business issues with a modular programme agenda.
Competitive and environmental analytics
Identifying your competitive environment and how your business model can respond.
- ‘Value’ due diligence - Putting a value on threats and opportunities
- Business model design - Simulating your competitive response options
Strategic resource allocation
Continually realigning internal resources and organisational design to maintain competitive advantage.
- Building on success - Overcoming limits to growth
- Competitive dynamics - Dealing with time based business complexity
- Strategic resource allocation - Placing the correct long term ‘bets’
Long range value planning
Developing robust business plans that align short and long term value objectives.
- Stakeholder alignment - Resolving the long term value conundrum
- Incentivising management - Getting your senior management in line
Stakeholder communication
Communicating value creation effectively to managers and external stakeholders.
- Stakeholder communication - New dialogues, new relationships
- Brand value engineering - Creating, not just measuring brand value
We are currently developing a ‘Managing uncertainty’ programme that integrates Real Options Valuation into a simulation based learning module. This programme covers ‘hard’ technical detail but also the more qualitative management engagement and stakeholder communication aspects. It will be available in mid 2008.
Benefits
- Executives can ‘play out’ the potential impact of new strategies, stress test their new business models and measure the potential outcomes in terms of long-term value.
- Executives can understand the impact of resource allocation and organisational complexity over future time horizons, in hard value terms.
- Executives can communicate value simply and consistently across their whole stakeholder community.
